Wheelset storage systems are designed for automatic wheelset transport and – as the name suggests - for storage with or without fittings and gears.

 

A combination of several storage units is able to bridge larger distances. Purpose-built control systems prevent the wheelsets from colliding in the event of a failure.

Wheelset storage

Turntable for driving wheelsets

Design:

 

  • Frame structure with integrated machinery.
  • For installation in a foundation pit or elevated track.
  • Turntable with slewing ring and machinery integrated in the base frame.

 

Function:

 

  • To turn (change of direction) driving wheelsets in the wheelset workshop.
  • To trap and eject the wheelsets hydraulically (roll-forward and roll-back lock).
  • To rotate wheelsets with a frequency-controlled geared motor.
  • To prevent steel hitting steel.

Wheelset turning, lifting and rolling rig

Design:

 

  • Turntable with integrated rolling rig that is mounted on a lifting device.

 

Function:

 

  • To rotate wheelsets and bring them in any position required for painting in a painting facility.

  • The wheelsets are positioned and rotated from the control panel.

  • The buffer carrier and collapsible jib can be adjusted and pivoted horizontally and vertically, mechanically or hydraulically; the height can be adjusted hydraulically.
  • The buffer can be precisely positioned and changed by one operator!

Function:

 

  • To change wheelsets with the train coupled together.

 

Technology:

 

  • The carriage moves transverse to the track, takes over the wheelset at the mounting and transfer stations and transfers the wheelset to the delivery station.
  • Delivery station with hydraulically pivoted flap or other equipment on request.
  • The carriage is driven electrically and lifted electro-hydraulically.
  • The carrier table can be swivelled by 90° and the track bridges can be moved laterally.

  • Roller conveyor with baskets for various components and a transfer station to the washing plant.

 

Function:

 

  • To transport components to the individual work places.

 

Technology:

 

  • Conveyor with heavy-duty ball-bearing rollers; subsections are equipped with multidirectional rollers to feed and discharge the conveyor and facilitate changes of direction of the baskets, pallets and larger components.
  • The transfer station comprises a lifting unit in the form of a scissor jack, a transfer table with a linear telescopic unit as well as guides and stops.
  • All moving parts are operated hydraulically and pneumatically.
  • The plant's programmable logic controller ensures modern, easy operation.

Drawgear dismantling and assembly device

Design:

 

  • Feed system with carriage and dismantling and assembly gantry with pressure stamp.

 

Function:

 

  • To dismantle and assemble different types, sizes and geometries of drawgear.

 

Technology:

 

  • The drawgear is placed in a carriage which has an adapter for the different sizes and geometries. The carriage then moves to the dismantling and assembly gantry on rails.
  • The carriage is locked. The force required to relieve the spring units is generated hydraulically by a keystroke.
  • The plant's programmable logic controller with rapid or creep speed ensures modern, easy operation.

Rotating and lifting device

Function:

  • The rotator lifts the wheelset with the body and rotates the wheels at a controlled speed in the desired direction.
